RS-15 Wingtip Wheels
by
Bill Hill

The wing tip wheels on N25133 are mounted on a tip plate that basically follows the shape of the airfoil on the top and portions of the bottom. It has an extension on the bottom to accommodate the wheel and provide aileron clearance. The outer portion is wood, and only covers a portion of front of the wing tip. The wheel is mounted to it and the wing tip plate. The back portion is cut shaped to permit the movement of the mass balancing weights.

The tip wheels extend approximately 4 inches below the wing and provide plenty of clearance for the ailerons to move fully downward when the wing is on the ground. I've enclosed a number of pictures that should be self explanatory.
